TSC starts new school year

The Tippecanoe School Corporation welcomed hundreds of new students Tuesday, August 13. It appears enrollment is up throughout the district. In addition, TSC welcomed about 70 teachers who are new to TSC.

While students enjoyed summer break, many TSC employees including custodians, food service, maintenance and others worked through the summer to repair, renovate and prepare our buildings for the new school year.

"I want to thank all of our employees who worked hard planning and preparing for the return of students," says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. "We are off to a successful start and the year promises to be one filled with exciting opportunities for our students to learn and grow."

TSC continues to offer high school students a variety of unique and challenging learning opportunities, including classes the Greater Lafayette Career Academy. The Academy is a collaborative effort through the Lafayette School Corporation, West Lafayette School Corporation and Tippecanoe School Corporation. The facility, located at 2201 S. 18th Street, Lafayette, offers a variety of courses to prepare students for college, a career and the workforce. Students are currently taking classes in health sciences, culinary arts and criminal justice. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held August 28.
