Robotics Club is an after-school program led by Mrs. Joni Bratcher where students have the opportunity to build and program a robot to do a specific function. Students can join the robotics club by teacher recommendations from their 4th and 5th-grade teachers. There are two teams with six students on each group. Each team works on one robot. This year, we will be competing for the first time against other schools in a Vex IQ Robot Challenge. The Challenge is different every year, but this year the challenge is to move and stack as many 4 in hubs as possible around a "playing" field. On November 2, one of our teams placed 4th out of about 25 teams. We are very proud of our TomaBots!!
Materials and supplies were possible by a grant from Tech Point Foundation for Youth with additional funding from the Kiwannis Club, Farmers State Bank, Mohr and Mohr Smiles, and Caterpillar.
