Kinder-Garden
The interior courtyard at Battle Ground Elementary has been transformed into a beautiful garden area for students to play and participate in various outdoor STEM activities. Kindergarten teachers were awarded a grant from the Public Schools Foundation to purchase garden materials such as, soil, mulch, rock, compost bin, and deck boxes to provide areas for an outdoor seating area, a shade garden, a butterfly garden and a vegetable garden. These areas will provide students with numerous hands-on learning experiences. The Battle Ground Garden Club donated plants for these garden areas and the funds to purchase more plants. Westfall Enterprise provided their expertise when it came to the installation of the garden area by bringing in the equipment and doing much of the heavy labor. Mr. Westfall also donated materials for this garden project. Battle Ground is thankful for our donors and parent volunteers that helped make this project possible.
